Students apply here for the USAF sponsored University AIM HIGH Flight Academy Summer Flight Training Scholarship.  If you are selected there is NO COST.  There are no military obligations or commitments by participating in this program.

Do you want to learn to fly?  We are looking for students who want to AIM HIGH!  As a student applicant to the Aim High Flight Academy, the USAF will sponsor a once in a lifetime opportunity to live and learn to fly at a partner university.  AHFA is for high school students, ages 16 – 18. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements. Applicants will be asked to submit a complete application package plus an official school Grade Point Average transcript to show they have a minimum cumulative 3.0 requirement. Once selected for the Aim High Flight Academy, students will have an opportunity to live, dine, enjoy and learn how to fly an airplane at a partner university. 

The USAF Aim High Flight Academy and University Aviation teams have decades of aviation experience that are primed to answer questions and provide examples of how exhilarating and gratifying a career in aviation can be.  The university instructor staff, certified flight instructors and support staff are experienced educators available to help students navigate potential aviation career opportunities.

If selected to participate in the AHFA you’ll be matched to a partner university flight training program. You’ll have the opportunity to live, dine, study, have fun and learn to fly while earning a certificate of completion.  You’ll experience first class university Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorized flight, ground and simulator training curriculum.  In addition to training, the USAF sponsors comfortable campus living arrangements, access to school services such as dining, fitness and recreation facilities.  The university will provide FAA curriculum, in-the-seat aircraft practical experiences to stimulate your interest as a professional aviator.  This program does not require military obligations or commitments. It does however require you to arrive ready to study and be successful.  You’ll be asked to collaborate in a small team, develop rapport with staff and students and support your fellow team members. Your success in this program may open future USAF aviation experiential learning opportunities. The Air Force evaluates all applications and selects students based on their meeting eligibility criteria, the student’s complete application and documents as well as a nomination statement. If you are not selected for the AHFA program there are other USAF sponsored aviation programs that you may be eligible for. We look forward to watching you soar at the AHFA!

Note:  The AIM HIGH Flight Academy Application Link will be available in late August 2022. 
The application window will open on/about 1 September 2022 for 60-days till 1 November 2022.
Be prepared to apply.  Read all the materials in the Resource section.
Please prepare to answer all the application questions by using the “Sample AHFA Application Form” located in the Resources section.
