The Air Force Recruiting Service escorted 10 education “influencers” to the Wing here Nov. 7.

The influencers are educators, school counselors, and others in position to influence or guide youth to various career options.

Col. Terry W. McClain, 433rd AW commander, started the group’s tour with a wing mission brief, in which he gave some background information on the organization as well as discussing its objectives.

“I found it very interesting the different types of jobs available,” said Amy Cash, Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green, Kentucky, mathematics teacher. “It is not just pilots and people on the plane, there are so many different opportunities even just at this one wing.”

Following the mission brief, the group toured a C-5M Super Galaxy.

“The C-5 is pretty impressive,” said Christian Adams, Mount Mansfield Union High School, Jericho, Vermont, school counselor. “Just the scale of the operation is I think the thing that impresses you most. Both size of the planes, but also the scope of what is done here.”
