Colonel LAYNE D. TROSPER

Col. Layne D. Trosper is Vice Commander, Air Force Recruiting Service, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. As Vice Commander, Col. Trosper is responsible for obtaining sufficient qualified men and women to meet the personnel procurement requirements of today's and tomorrow's highly technological Air Force and Space Force. Air Force Recruiting Service comprises more than 3,000 Airmen and civilians at more than 1,000 facilities across the U.S. and abroad.


Colonel Trosper graduated from Texas A&M University in 1992 and joined the U.S. Army as a Warrant Officer where he served as a UH-1 pilot at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana. In 1998, he was commissioned in the Air Force through Officer Training School and has held a variety of leadership positions in acquisitions, staff, support and recruiting duties.


Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Commander, 372nd Recruiting Group, Hill AFB, Utah, where he was responsible for Air Force recruiting in the Western United States and Pacific region across eight enlisted accessions squadrons and an officer accessions squadron.
