Lieutenant Colonel ALAN K. LOUIE

Lt. Col. Alan K. Louie is the Commander, 342nd Recruiting Squadron, San Antonio, Texas. He leads a highly skilled team of 99 recruiters and support personnel tasked with inspiring, engaging and recruiting line officer and health professions officers from a 1.2 million square mile area of responsibility, encompassing 18 Southeastern states and the Caribbean. Lieutenant Colonel Louie is responsible for the annual accession of more than 300 line officers, and 300 doctors, nurses, dentists and allied health officers to meet Air Force and Space Force end strength requirements.

Lieutenant Colonel Louie entered the Air Force in 2003, receiving his commission through Officer Training School. His acquisition, space, test, operations and staff assignments have encompassed explosives development, weapons, aircraft sustainment, nuclear command and control, and space-based sensors.  He has served in numerous roles including Chief of the Next-Generation Cruise Missile branch, Program Manager of Space-Based Nuclear Detonation Detection, Operations Officer for the A-10 System Program Office, and Executive Officer to the AFOTEC commander and two Joint Special Operations Air Component-Central Group Commanders supporting Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. He is a graduate of the School of Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies and Air War College. 

Prior to his current position, Lieutenant Colonel Louie was Chief, Program Execution Group, Armament Directorate, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. He was responsible for supporting the Program Executive Officer for Weapons in planning and execution of $92 billion in life cycle activities for air-delivered munitions, aerial targets, combat training systems, and threat emitters.
