Lieutenant Colonel MICHAEL R. WILSON

Lt. Col. Michael R. Wilson is the commander, 332d Recruiting Squadron, Nashville, Tennessee. He commands 10 flights comprised of 85 military and civilian personnel
covering 92,000 square miles throughout eight states in the midwest and southern United States. Lt Col Wilson partners with military, civic, educational, and community leaders to generate optimum awareness for Department of the Air Force accessions. He manages a $1.3 million budget, a fleet of 65 vehicles and 40 recruiting office locations charged with an annual accession of 1,400 new Airmen and Guardians for the Air and Space Forces.

Lieutenant Colonel Wilson enlisted in the Air Force in 1997 and served as a KC-10 Flying Crew Chief and Maintenance Qualification Training Program Instructor. Since earning his commission through Officer Training School in 2004, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson has served as a space crew commander, instructor & evaluator for ground-based radar operations; Space Battle Manager and Chief of Orbital Analysis for the Combined Space Operations Center; Deputy Chief of Weapons & Tactics for the 1st Special Operations Wing; and Chief of the Space Integration Division for Air Force Special Operations Command. Additionally, he has executed missions on contingency deployments for Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, FREEDOM’s SENTINEL, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, and OLYMPIC DEFENDER. Prior to his current position, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson served as the Operations Officer for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 790, Tennessee State University, where he was responsible for recruiting and overseeing the preparation of officer candidates through a comprehensive college program encompassing 11 geographically separated universities spread across the middle Tennessee region.
