Air Force Recruiting Service earns four major command-level awards

Air Education and Training Command officials announced the annual winners for AETC's 2011 Public Affairs Communication Excellence Awards Jan. 3.

In the group category, AFRS Public Affairs won The Brigadier General Harry J. Dalton Jr. Award for the Distinguished Educator and Health Professions tours; Best Issues Management Award for preparing leadership and recruiters for the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell; and Best Integrated Communication Award for their part in developing Broadest Landscape products for the Web, TV and radio.

Additionally, Amy Bartholomew, AFRS Public Affairs deputy chief, won the Outstanding Communication Intermediate Grade Civilian Award. Bartholomew was recognized for her work as an outstanding PA professional and leader; and the production of two Air Force commercials.

The Headquarters AFRS Advertising Branch and Officer Accessions Branch were also recognized for the Dalton and Best Integrated categories. These branches teamed up with PA to accomplish the programs and projects.

The award packages will now compete at Air Force level.
