Dr. Michael Ripley removes a cyst from a patient’s back while serving as a civilian doctor at Baghdad International Airport in 2005. Dr. Ripley, 51, joins the active-duty Air Force in March to which he’ll contribute extensive experience in deployed medicine and leadership skills. For 2007, the Air Force seeks more than 1,000 fully-qualified recruits for medical service corps, dental corps, nurse corps and biomedical corps specialties.
