344th Nascar Dep swear in

The 344th Recruiting squadron had an activation space over the weekend with the main events being held on Sunday, April 14th. Technical Sgt. Schackman, Technical Sgt. Gatlin, Technical Sgt. Barajas, Staff Sgt. Duff, Staff Sgt. Tolle, and Staff Sgt. Rich engaged with more than 5K race fans that came through the Fan Zone. The 344RCS received support from Sheppard AFB to highlight maintenance career fields in the Air Force. Non-Commissioned Officers and technical school students brought two jet engines and an assortment of training weapons to be showcased in the fan zone where they were able to discuss not only the weapons and aircraft capabilities, but their experience in their career field and in the service. The squadron participated in a joint swear in on the track with the Army where 13 future Airmen were sworn in by Army Maj. Gen. Kevin Admiral before the race, where their family and friends were able to come down to the track to take photos and share the experience with their future Airman. The Delayed Entry Program members were able to join the future soldiers in the holding of the flag for the flyover and singing of the National Anthem on the track in front of the more than 25K fans in attendance.
